Brian Klosterman has over
25 years of experience in the consumer electronics and related
technology industries. His background includes licensing,
technology development, business development, product management,
sales, marketing and business strategy development. He is
currently chief executive officer of REVA Ventures, Inc.,
a technology consulting company.
He served as president and chief operating officer of the
publicly traded company StarSight Telecast, Inc.
from 1993 to 2000. In this capacity, he was responsible for
the overall direction and operation of the company, with a
primary focus on technology development and licensing. During
his 7-year tenure at StarSight/Gemstar, Klosterman applied
for 15 patents in the interactive television and electronic
program guide field, of which 10 have been granted. Gemstar
Development Corporation acquired the company in May of 1997.
Klosterman was appointed to the Gemstar board of directors
and continued as president of StarSight. He was responsible
for Gemstar’s overall consumer electronics licensing
business strategy.
Prior to joining StarSight Telecast, he was vice president
of the Sony Consumer Television Products Co.
During his 5-year tenure at Sony he managed all key elements
of their U.S. television operation, including P & L, product
strategy and development, marketing and program development,
pricing strategy, national advertising and public relations.
Prior to his post at Sony, Klosterman held marketing and product
management positions with Thomson Consumer Electronics (RCA
Corporation) at their corporate headquarters in Indianapolis,
Indiana. He also held sales and marketing positions with RCA
Corporation in New York and other key markets.
Mr. Klosterman’s background also includes broad experience
in consumer electronics retail and wholesale distribution.).
